Cam Lock Ltd is pleased to welcome Alan Davidson as its new Director of Business Development. He brings a career that spans engineering, manufacturing and commercial leadership across the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Alan started out in engineering and manufacturing. Much of his early career was at Rolls-Royce, where he spent several years in roles covering manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, advanced manufacturing leadership and technical programme management. That time in a global aerospace business gave him a strong grounding in operational excellence, problem-solving and running complex projects.
He later moved into customer-facing and commercial leadership roles, where he could pair his technical background with business development and strategic growth. That mix of engineering knowledge and commercial focus will be central to his work at Cam Lock as he helps the company build relationships with customers and partners and find new opportunities.
“I’ve always enjoyed working closely with customers and partners to understand their challenges, identify opportunities and build long-term relationships that deliver value for everyone involved,” said Alan. “What I enjoy most is bringing people together to solve problems and helping organisations turn ideas into tangible results. I believe the best outcomes come from strong collaboration, open communication and a practical approach to getting things done.”
Outside work, Alan is passionate about aviation and follows developments across the aerospace industry closely. He values time with family and friends, and he enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures and markets.
“I’m excited to be joining the business,” Alan added. “I’m looking forward to meeting more of the team, learning about the business and contributing to our future success.”
