Customs management and trade compliance across the whole Company. Ensuring that all global regulations are understood. Determining customs classifications and regulatory requirements (applying for export licenses, and certificates, etc). Ensuring the highest compliance levels for all customs and Government agency requirements across all staff and teams. Gathering, logging and monitoring all shipping data.<\/li>\n<li>Organising carriers for both UK and International Shipments.<\/li>\n<li>Assess and improve current project management procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Analyse and report on sales order trends. shipping, logistics, or international trade are advantageous, such as:\n<ul>\n<li>British International Freight Association (BIFA)<\/li>\n<li>Institute of Export &amp; International Trade qualifications<\/li>\n<li>CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Project management qualification or experience (PRINCE2, APM, or similar) desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Dangerous Goods certification (IATA\/ADR\/IMDG) advantageous where applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Essential Experience:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in international shipping, export administration, and customs compliance within a manufacturing, engineering, defence, aerospace, or technical sales environment.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience managing UK and international freight movements including air, sea, and road shipments.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of UK export control legislation, HMRC customs procedures, and international trade compliance requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Experience preparing and reviewing export documentation including:\n<ul>\n<li>Commercial invoices<\/li>\n<li>Packing lists<\/li>\n<li>Certificates of origin<\/li>\n<li>Dangerous goods documentation (where applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Export licences and customs declarations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and government agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Experience using ERP\/MRP systems and shipping or logistics software.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable experience supporting ISO 9001 quality systems and compliance procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Experience coordinating projects and sales administration within a fast-paced commercial environment.<\/li>\n<li>Experience analysing sales, shipping, and operational data to improve processes and reporting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of:\n<ul>\n<li>UK Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) requirements<\/li>\n<li>US Export Administration Regulations (EAR)<\/li>\n<li>International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (desirable)<\/li>\n<li>Incoterms\u00ae 2020<\/li>\n<li>Commodity codes \/ tariff classifications<\/li>\n<li>Rules of origin and customs valuation<\/li>\n<li>Sanctions and restricted party screening<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ability to determine export licensing requirements and maintain accurate compliance records.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of post-Brexit customs procedures and international trade documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of import\/export compliance risks and mitigation procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical and reporting skills with strong attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, distributors, carriers, customs authorities, and internal departments.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interpret technical, commercial, and regulatory information accurately.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving mindset with a continuous improvement approach.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality in relation to controlled information and export-sensitive data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in defence, aerospace, engineering, or regulated manufacturing sectors.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of dual-use goods regulations and military\/end-user export controls.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing international distributor networks and global customer accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with customs software systems such as CDS, CHIEF, or freight portal systems.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of lean process improvement or continuous improvement
